We aim to trick your brain

Yes, exactly! While it steers away from worries, frees itself from stress and embraces creativity, we are forming new neural connections, learning, expressing ourselves and stimulating the production of the ‘happiness hormones’.

TangoTherapy: An Innovative Approach to Well-Being

TangoTherapy uses tango, in all its artistic expressions, as an educational and therapeutic tool. This complementary therapy is applied both in primary prevention and in supporting a wide range of situations, fostering holistic well‑being and enhancing physical, mental and emotional health at every stage of life.

But… why tango?

Although every dance style offers distinct advantages, tango has specific characteristics that have led to its worldwide recognition as a complementary therapy and its integration into health institutions. Using dance as a complementary therapy involves a unique approach to addressing illnesses or specific situations. Its inherent qualities foster a positive emotional disposition, optimise exercises through “dance steps”, and promote self‑development and health at physical, mental and emotional levels, as well as well‑being and social inclusion.

Impact

Committed to each and every participant, we strive to create meaningful engagement that truly impacts their daily lives. This not only supports each individual but also generates a positive multiplier effect across the community.

The impact of the project has become clearly visible over the years. From the moment we began running experiences in Portugal, we observed highly positive feedback. This receptiveness encouraged us to expand our work and, despite the challenges of the pandemic, we returned with renewed strength. In just three years, we increased our level of community intervention by 750%, demonstrating both the importance and the necessity of our initiatives.

DAT not only promotes an improvement in quality of life, but also contributes to building a more caring and cohesive society. We aim to create a positive impact on the community’s overall well-being, through a comprehensive and integrated approach, in pursuit of a more prosperous and sustainable future.
